I would appreciate if any of you could shed light on the following scenario:
If 485 is pending for over six months and someone switched the job using AC21 for a position which would require extended stay [upto 2-3 years] outside the US. Would it any way impact the GC process? Given that priority date is 2007, it is unlikely(?) that 485 would be adjusted in that time.

you will need to come back to atleast get AP approvals (AP expires every year), and if you are served a fingerprint notice, then come back for that. If you are going to be definately out for the next few years, another option is to do consular processing; talk to a lawyer it depends a lot on your specific case.

It looks like my lawyer has already mailed the application to USCIS. The priority dates becomes current only on July 1st.

Yesterday, there was a problem with the uscis web site. I tried to use the web site several times. Did you try to use the web site yesterday? or before?
I received a receipt confirmation for my I-140 petition. It shows that they received on March 24, 2006. I tried to check on the status on USCIS website in case status. I could not find my case so far. Does it take so long to be updated. I am worried if my petition is misplaced somewhere...

We all know about the McCain_Kennedy, Coryn-Kyl, and Hagel Senate bills. Apparently, Sen Frist, Majority Leader, is also compiling his own bill.
Not sure if this contains any EB-relief provisions, but it would certainly be an important, welcome, addition.

See responses in red below. Guys...I don't understand why there's so much of confusion. How is it that you can't figure out what the manner of your last entry was??? If you used H1 then it has to be H1, if you used AP then has to be PAROLEE! In any case, this is stamped on your I-94...just check there.

1. Manner of Last Entry : Should it be H-1B?Check your I-94. I-94 stamp tells you your manner of last entry and current immigration status
2. Current Immigration Status : H-1B? We never used EAD/AP to work or travelI don't know when this would be different from the Manner of Last Entry. This field entry should be same as previous one
6. Eligibility status: Should we just menton (c)(9) or have to add "FILED I-485" too?I think there is a Drop Down...you can't just enter your own text (don't remember 100% though. But if this is text then just enter (c)(9) - this already means that you have EAD eligibility because you have filed for AOS/I-485

My wife is going to Chennai for a H1 visa stamping. Her old visa expired somewhere in 2006. She is now on her second extension of H1 and has not traveled since then...now she is going to India and going to Chennai consulate to get her H1 visa.
She is a dependent on me wrt i-485. She has EAD and AP. However, she is still on H1 (hasn't used the EAD thus far).
My hypothetical question is: in the even if she gets a 221(g) at the consulate can she return to US with the AP she has?

Hi Guys,
My personal experience on this. In my case I found a positive skin test and went for X-ray scan. In xray scan they found a module and USCIS doctor is reluctant to give a 693 until I got clearance from PCP. I researched a lot on this and found that positive skin test might be because of different bacteria in body which may cause to bump and not exactly the TB bacteria. There is a new test called TB gold test, where they will specifically test for TB bacteria in blood sample. This was negative in my case and got a result from pulminology department. USCIS approved doctor gave 693 after reviewing it. My GC got approved without any problem. Accuracy in tb gold test is 97% where as skin test is 70 to 80%. I agree the volume of tests are less but the new technology is more accurate than the old. Hope this helps.

I asked IV core on what version of immigration bill they support because I and other people wanted to know since there are so many amendments to the current immigration bill and Now I log in to see , the thread is missing, why, my question was straight forward, again I am asking them on what form of immigration bill they support. I highly doubt In what they are doing looks like they are working for the benefit of them self. Yes even our received dates are different, mine was Sep 28 and my wife's was Sep 27. Receipt #s are SRC07285**** and SRC07284**** respectively.
For me and my spouse [derivative] only the last 2 digits differ. I got approved from TSC on 8/8/8 and received the card on 8/15/8. My spouses status still says:
Current Status: Case received and pending.
On September 28, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
PD: 3/3/6

I have GC for about a month now. I plan on taking up Corp-to-Corp, Independent, 1099 and W2 contracts. For corp-to-corp contracts I would like to incorporate a company if I can save on taxes over the 1099 contracts. I am also

Yes, I94 is a part of ur new H1 (at teh bottom)...so u can go to Canada Mex using that and enter back into US within 30 days....
