I'm guessing this topic was spurred by my post about the cameras I carry.. :-)
I didn't buy that particular phone for the camera, it was built-in.. Quality isn't great and you know that going in that -- it's a toy.
It does have some nice options on the phone, especially when the phone is reprogrammed. (I have a buddy that works for Motorola up in Chicago.) All the options on the phone are open now on it. That was my particular motivation in the phone. I use the GPRS on the phone to transmit pictures on occasion from my powerbook (plugs in via USB -- works as a GPRS modem or a standard 9600 baud analog modem) .. Very nice. It's got the built-in POP/IMAP message center and all that good stuff too.
I'll take a couple pictures with it and post it here tomorrow when I get a chance.

There may be members posting their thoughts and suggestions on multiple websites. Right now immigrationvoice.org is separate org and has a different approach to others that I know. This org is going to raise funds and hire professional strategist who knows how to cross a minefield and get our priorites introduced in one or other vehicle of legislation.
Everyone here on this org is:
1. Affected by retrogression.
2. Already tried individual efforts to educate/convince congress to eliminate employment based retrogression and raise GC quote for EB2, EB3.
3. Realized after defeat of provisions in S 1932 in the house that we need professional help and need to spend money, time and efforts to get it done.
While individual efforts are not bad, lobbying certainly makes a lot of difference when it comes to get our priorities stay in legislation during intense debate over immigration in general.
Please keep you valuable contributions coming in terms of your time, forum replies and money. We have raised $5000 dollars in 2 days and our goal is $100,000 for professional lobbying help and we need to raise that much in next few weeks.

I find that Silverlight and related .NET stuff works extremely well cross-platform. Apps like Banshee (http://banshee-project.org/) are cross-platform (really, not like Flash and AIR which suck on Linux and Mac) and work wonderfully on every platform (alright, bad example: there’s not a Windows port at the moment, because of the underlying audio libraries, but it’s all C# stuff).
Mono is implementing a really nice open-source version of Silverlight (I forget its name), and Silverlight works great on Mac.

If we're forced to see the glass half full, delayed 140 processing may actually be good for some people who are about to be laid off and whose 140 is on shaky grounds. It might just buy'em some more time to switch employers and figure out alternatives.

Ummm, how exactly is delayed I 140 good if they are about to be laid off? To be able to use AC21 these guys need need their I 140 approved and have worked for the employer 6 months after receipt date.

I sent in form G-325 for both me and my wife along with my I-485 instead of the G-325A as required on I-485 instructions by oversight. What do you guys recommend I do? Should I send in a new application or just send in the G-325A form with a letter stating the issue? Please help.

Do not ignore it. Go back to the POE (CBP deferred adjudication office) and they could have a date of 1 month on the top portion they keep and forgotten to put a date on the visitor's copy. They will check the system and put a date on the I-94. You may be risking their visa validity if they over stay. Do it ASAP.

How do you distinguish between junk and not junk? It is holiday season and some families and students travel to India during this time. Some might get time to browse the net and some might not. If someone visits this forum they will be well informed about travel conditions back home and this was my only intention but I think you have an agenda here. If you like it read it or else just ignore rather than classifying or giving names. This is not a personal chat room or e-mail so don't show your anger here, just send them a PM, my 2 cents. My wife is not H4, she is working on EAD and we applied her I-485 last July. She has to travel to India for an emegency. We applied for AP last month, have the receipt but it is not approved. Is it okay if she travels to India without AP approval? I will be here and I can take her approved AP when I go there after two months.
I heard that if she travels without AP, her I-485 is considered abonded. Is this true? Can we apply for her H4 (as I am still on H1). Any advice on how to get her back?

I think you should not take this risk. Once you leave the country without AP, the application is considered as revoked as per my reading somewhere. I am trying to find link.

I recently renewed our passports. I removed the I-94 (Which were stapled) to the passports and kept those with me, just to make sure it doesn't get lost. There was no question asked from Indian embassy regarding I-94, which is not the requirement, on the website.

i really wanted to know if it was illegla before reporting someone, you can refer to jaylenos reply where he quoted my previous post and you will know my real issue is with people that do fraud.
And i am not that stupid to write in a forum like this accepting that i am doing a fraud ehn i can be tracked.
I wasnt sure and i didnt know how to go about it.
try to follow law in its technicality and spirit. A lot of us may face delay in their app processing for uscis to figure out fraudsters among us. We should keep our program defensible not only in the court of law but also in the court of (american) public opinion.

what you're describing is day trading but you will only catch the eye of the IRS ONLY if you're making $50K of above in profits or you're buying and selling $100K of shares in short period of time....in other words, any amt that is more than your salary.
buying and selling shares 10 times a day in small cash amounts will not be an issue. if you get audited IRS may only wonder if you're really working for your employer becoz you can't have that much time in your hands if you're really working a full time H1b job.
i have traded stocks for several years regularly in large amounts - singular trades sizing up to $20k. Though i've been fined by the IRS in the amt. $11K for not paying enough taxes on capital gains but have never been audited. ..touch wood.
i guess the bottom line is that if you're trading well below your salary level and are not making obscene profits disproportionate to your salary...you should be fine.

By day trading I mean not just investing in stocks and not just buying and selling stocks in a single day -- I am asking about making perhaps 10 trades in a day (5 rounds of buy, sell)? I understand IRS can call you out to be a full-time trader but the rules for this are not laid out clearly, as far as I can understand. Anyone out there with relevant links/personal experience on this one? Would really appreciate your feedback.

If this happens it will be a bad news as given environment I 140 approval takes years . Very soon there will be a backlog in I 140 stage.. They are just swaping backlog from one stage to another..

No one knows what they look at and won't look at while deciding on your I485. If you one of the "chosen" one, you may get called for personal interview and I have heard lots of horror stories about the stuff they asked at the interview. At the same most of the people get the GC without hitch.
So, the morale of the story is stop worrying. There is nothing you can do/prepare to effect decision on your I-485. Since you have played by book and assuming you don't have any law related issues, you should be fine.
